After all the damage we suffered at the Easter Thunderball and the Main Event, it was not easy to get ready for the 3th round of the European Championship. The car needed a new engine and lots of other parts. The last parts arrived just in time and the truck left for Sweden on Tuesday evening.
On Thursday we prepared the car and on Friday we were ready for the first testrun. Danny launched the car, 0,98 sec. to sixty feet and shutt off halfway. It looked like a nice straight run.
After check-up everything seemed to be OK. The whole team was really happy to be back. Unfortunately there was no time left for a second qualifying run on Friday. Saturday the weather was better and we were unpatiend to get started. Immediately after the start Danny's tyres went up in smoke and he had to get off the throttle. Still no better qualifying position.
On the last run of the day Danny was in stage but couldn't hold the car much longer and left before the three was activated. As sixt qualifyer we had to run against Dan Larsen on elimination day. But on Sunday rain came down and after many efforts of the track crew to dry the track, the organisation decided to end the event. The Veidec Festival was rained out!
In less than 2 weeks we will be in Hockenheim for the next round. See you all there.
1ste ronde ging van start in Santa Pod Raceway UK.
Met een nieuwe funny car look begon het nieuwe seizoen. Het weer was fantastisch en door het verlengde weekend in de UK waren er enorm veel fans aanwezig.
Met een 5.50 sec/run zette het team de beste tijd in de kwalificatie ronde en werd zo top qualifyer.
Na de winst van de Main Event en een aangename voorsprong in punten wachtte ons een lange zomer zonder races. Nadat de race in Finland werd geannuleerd volgde ook de Nationals race in Zweden.
